As you may know, our concept of cellularization is to aggregate multiple HISats to create a fully functional and autonomous structure. In keeping with that concept we’ve expanded our facilities. To accommodate the significant demands placed on our facility by our rapid growth, we’ve replicated our open-office, collaborative working environment within an additional building in our current industrial complex. Just a few steps away from our original office in Los Alamitos we’ve acquired additional office and laboratory space that will accommodate three of our four engineering groups, as well as our 3D printing lab. The open space layout of the facility will enhance our collaborative and iterative design and production process, while allowing the kind of personal space everyone needs to keep happy. And while we’re talking about happy, to our policy of “limitless ice cream and drinks” we’ve also added a fully-stocked commercial ice cream freezer and self-serve commercial soft drink display refrigerator. Just down the hall from the lunchroom is the “game room” complete with air hockey and foosball tables, large screen TV, and comfortable home-style furniture. But, it’s not all fun and games at NovaWurks. We’ve established a new multi-functional conference/meeting room with multiple large screen displays, audio system and management systems to accommodate up to fifty attendees in a variety of room configurations. To show off our 3D printers, we’ve created a unique, bright, climate-controlled lab – complete with skylight providing ample natural sunlight. While this new facility looks great, its real purpose is to provide a workspace and experience that encourages creativity and collaboration in a fast-paced, fun environment.
